So far, smart phones launched in answer to the iPhone have disappointed. The Palm Pre looks like it's combination of hardware and software is elegant enough in functionality to provide consumers with a real choice. Tim Cook, COO at Apple even offered a warning to competitors after the Pre was announced: We approach this business as a software platform business. We are watching the landscape. We like competition as long as they donâ??t rip off our IP. And if they do, we will go after anyone who does. Friend of the Brief, SERKOART, took his 5D Mark II to the Palm booth at CES and captured video of the Pre in action.
