The Loop Pointer was first announced at CES in 2007. We covered it on GeekBrief.TV and I was excited about it. It didn't come out and I forgot about it. Monday, Hillcrest Labs finally released it an I ordered one from Amazon.com and I've been playing with it for about a day now and it rocks! On screen tracking was very precise. It doesn't require very much motion to move the cursor around the screen. The best part is the thumb scroll wheel. I wish every remote control had one. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Front Row since Front Row doesn't support mouse navigation. It works beautifully with Windows Media Center and it's even better with Elgato's EyeTV Hybrid. It took quite a bit of practice to learn to click hypertext links on a Web site. It took about an hour before I got my aim right. The Loop is the most fun gadget I've played with this year and it works exactly like I hoped it would. It really makes me want to hook a Mac Mini up to my TV.
