While the town's innocents are being hoodwinked, the simple, earnest life of Bill comes to life. Bill wants to be a postal inspector in order to marry Betty. Though far down the line on the list for promotion, Bill agrees with his boss to go undercover to infiltrate the fraudulent ring of thieves and obtain the promotion.
