Ever wished you could challenge one of your teachers to a competition? Ford Motor Company gave Derek Murrell of Lake Mary, Florida, the chance to do just that, pitting him against his high school shop teacher Bill Rosenblum in a 2010 Ford Mustang GT drag race grudge match.
A racer in the local central Florida scene, Mr. Rosenblum was a big influence on Derek and his passion for cars. Hearing Mr. Rosenblum talk up his racing skills in class, it became Derekâs dream to face off against his teacher and mentor. Derek submitted this racing dream to the 2010 Mustang Unleashed contest, and to his surprise, he was selected by Ford and arrangements were made to build and test Mustangs for a drag race.
