Carl Bildt, Foreign Minister of Sweden, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, tells journalists that he expects a meeting to take place between Iran and the '3+3' group, composed of the United States, Russia, China, France, Germany and the UK. EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana is seen as the diplomat who represents the 3+3 group. Earlier talks have taken place in July 2008 in Geneva and in June of that year in Tehran, when Solana handed over the demands of the 3+3 group to Iran.
Diplomats in Brussels said the new talks are likely to place on 1 October. The location has yet to be agreed. Distributed by Tubemogul.
