At Whiting Lane elementary school, kindergarten teacher Kristi Luetjen has something to celebrate. She is Connecticut's 2010 Teacher of the Year. Kristi was named West Hartford's Teacher of the Year this past spring. Education commissioner Mark McQuillan honored her as the state winner at a Whiting Lane assembly on October 14th. Many teachers and students dressed in purple, her favorite color.
