Christmas is a major Christian festival here in the United States and all around the world. It was during the Middle Ages that the name âÂÂChrist massâÂÂ, was introduce to the World. The church in its infancy celebrates Jesus death, but rarely was the birth of Jesus ever celebrated. It would not be until the fourth century that the birth of Jesus would become a major celebration. This celebration of the birth of Jesus is called Epiphany; this word was used to explain the materialization or the coming of God into the world. When people talk, of the âÂÂEpiphanyâÂÂ, this is what they are talking about, it is a term use to describe the birth of Jesus, and the visit of the Wise Men and it is a term used to describe Jesus baptismal from John the Baptist. This month our teaching will be about how Christmas became a national holiday, what the symbols and ornaments of Christmas means. We will also compare Matthews, Mark and Luke version of the birth of Jesus.
