Nearly a year after the Obama administration made settling the Israeli-Palestinian dispute a major priority, the old conventional wisdom on the topic is being replaced by a new reality.
Steve Masters, national president of the pro-Israel, pro-peace organization Brit Tzedek vâShalom, shines fresh light on how support for Israel is linked to support for a mutually agreed-upon conclusion to the Middle East crisis.
A discussion follows his talk.
Brit Tzedek vâShalom--The Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace--is one of the leading organizations creating that change, coupling support for Israel with grass-roots efforts to advance the cause of a negotiated, two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It has mobilized over 1000 rabbis and almost 50,000 other supporters. Brit Tzedek will unite in January with J-Street, the political arm of the pro-Israel, pro-peace movement.
