This film, made in 1981 for a Corporation for Public Broadcasting series called "Matters of Life and Death," is about Brother Bruce, a monk joining the first all-Black Benedictine monastery in the United States, in Houston Texas. It is a documentary with added scenes of Bruce in the desert (shot near Odessa TX) and a re-creation of his vows, i.e. a docu-drama. It was roughly transferred from a second generation videotape. Crew includes Charles Fox, III; Babette T. Gorman, Anne Fischel, and Herb Fuller.
