It's probably the biggest lesson I learnt in business at the start, how much time should you spend on a business plan. You can spend years writing them and finding they were all wrong, not because of any lack of business plan help or advice but because when you put the product to the market the facts and figures just weren't quite right. A lot of businesses start with no business plan at all. Others, like me write the business plan thoroughly and then find it's all wrong.
So what balance should you strike? How much time should you spend on a business plan?
A good friend of mine, Orlando Taylor from Switched Onn has been behind several companies and shared this advice in the latest GIBz.TV show.
