CeBIT, the annual IT and computer fair held in Hanover, Germany, is being held this year on 2nd March to 6th March 2010.
What caught my eye was the announcement by Sunny Oceans, a company based in Singapore, that they will be at CeBIT showing a 27-inch auto-stereoscopic 3D display with â64 possible viewing anglesâ.
The main benefit of auto-stereoscopic displays is that you donât need to wear special 3D glasses to see the effect. However, most glasses-free displays suffer from having few optimal viewing angles, usually less than a dozen. The new display uses, â64 individual frames for the different perspectives in each 3D imageâ, and claims, âsignificantly improved 3D qualityâ.
Apparently, Sunny Oceans are also, âcurrently developing the worldâs first 3D cinema in which the audience will no longer require any special glassesâ.
