Gilgit, March 30: Faced with an acute shortage, Pakistani government is exploring the possibility of producing water from artificially melting snow. Residents of Gilgit Baltistan, where the tests on the glaciers are being conducted, say the undue exploitation of nature could spell disaster for the local population.
