Though initially we only intended to share our very first documentary film with a few select friends (as we're not professional filmmakers, or even film students), over a year later we see that our project has turned into something much bigger and ambitious. True, it's a classical amateur film (with all the faults that go with it) made by two 20-year-olds with no additional crew and a whopping budget of about $0. But maybe that's what makes it charming.
Our film takes a look at the LDS Church's (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) doings in Estonia. We interview members of the church and examine what the church's mission is. Also, we interview many missionaries working in Estonia to see who they are and whether they're happy with their mission here. We also try to find out how they see Estonians and what they will remember when their mission of two years is finally over.
Why do we believe the things we believe? What are the benefits? What are the dangers?
In the end we're only sure of this: different things work for different people.
