Today in the United States is Memorial Day, the day we set aside each year to honor those who have fallen in the service of their country's armed forces. We also add to them those veterans who returned who have now also answered the call to cross the bridge to the other side of The Veil.
Every country has a time to honor such fallen heroes, and I take time to honor them all, including those of other countries and even those who fought against the United States. After all, they were serving their country. And what better reconciliation? Especially if their country and mine are friends now!
But especially, I take time to honor those who fell in a uniform similar to, or a predecessor of, one which I wore. I would have gone onto the battlefield, but somehow I got chosen for a desk in Illinois during the Vietnam conflict. But I can name names of friends who went and did not return. And many of you can name friends, relatives and loved ones you'll wish to honor.
