Weeks before the stock market crashed in October of 1929, Hal Roach released one of his last silent Little Rascals films, "Little Mother". A departure from the usual light comedy and a starring vehicle for Mary Ann Jackson, Little Mother pulled out all the stops for a three handkerchief short; but pre-Depression era audiences really loved this kind of pathos.
Just for fun, I wondered what a new soundtrack would be like, replacing the random jazz music used on the copy I have. I used LeRoy Shields' original music composed for Laurel and Hardy/Our Gang as played by the Beau Hunks orchestra. Here is part 1 "Little Mother".
