Every faithful vampire fanatic knows that television does not exactly have a great track record when it comes to making vampire shows. Many of them, especially ones that come from books, end up being a huge disappointment. I think the main reason is that it is so hard to convey the complexity of vampire characters through television and film. When I first heard that HBO would be making the true blood series based on the Charlaine Harris novels I was a bit skeptical. The novels are quite complex because they skillfully blend. horror, romance and comedy together.
