http://www.gwm-tv.com - Confidence in investment in the Brazilian economy has received a boost from one of its closest neighbours.
Chile's retail giant, Cencosud, has made a $800 million purchase of Brazilian supermarket chain Bretas, which consolidates its position as the regionâs biggest retailer by sales.
The acquisition is Cencosudâs fifth in Brazil since 2007, and doubles its size in the key market, which has been tipped by some analysts to be the third-fastest growing retail market in the world, behind China and India.
Cencosud has committed to opening eight new supermarkets in Brazil by December.
