When I arrived in this country,
I was much lighter.
But for a host of reasons,
Iâve gained a lot of weight.
Little by little Iâve packed on the pounds.
Iâve always had issues with my weight though.
I donât eat junk food, but I tend to eat too much.
The food in Italy is the best in the world I think.
And that makes it even harder to resist over-indulging.
Right now Iâm overweight.
Some people might say Iâm pleasantly plump.
While others would say that Iâm just plain fat.
Iâm on a diet now. I hope I can stick to it.
Iâm developing better eating habits like
Not eating in between meals, or late at night.
No more midnight snacks for me!
My strategies include eating more slowly and with more attention.
Iâm even using smaller plates so that the portions look bigger.
I eat plenty of vegetables and green, as well as fruit like apples and pears.
And one key to my strategy is to never skip breakfast.
I always have a very healthy breakfast and that helps me not to give in to temptation.
