Little Johnny came running into his fatherâs study.
He was all out of breath, but it was obvious that he had something urgent on his mind.
Johnnyâs parents were trying to teach him to be calmer.
âSlow down Johnny!â, yelled his father.
âBut butâ¦.â Panted Johnny.
âNow slow down, my sonâ said his father.
âIt canât be all that urgentâ.
âDo you have ants in your pants or something?â
âNow pipe down!â
âBut butâ¦.!â Said Johnny.
âNow Johnny, hold your horses. You have to learn to calm downâ
âBut Dad!â cried Johnny.
âDonât âbut Dadâ me. You canât just come barging in here for every little thingâ
âYouâre so fidgety and you have to learn more self-controlâ his father added.
âWhile youâre calming yourself down, go get my newspaper from the kitchenâ
âAnd while youâre at it, fetch me my glasses from the mantelpieceâ.
And Johnny reluctantly obeys his father.
After a minute, Johnny returns with the newspaper and glasses.
Heâs much calmer now.
His father syas, âOkay my son, thatâs more like itâ.
