Mary and Lilly were out for an afternoon stroll in the park.
Suddenly, it started to rain.
And in a few minutes it was coming down in buckets, so Mary and Lilly ducked into a bookshop to wait out the storm.
âSeeing as weâre here, maybe Iâll pick up a book for my dadâs birthdayâ said Mary.
âHeâs so hard to shop for.
I never know what to get himâ, she continued.
âWhat have you got in mind?â asked Lilly.
âOh, I donât know, I was thinking of getting him the new whodunit by Tom Clancyâ.
âReally?â said Lilly, âIâm surprised, I thought he didnât like mysteriesâ.
âWell, what would you suggest?â inquired Mary, âa cookbook?â.
âHeaven forbid!â cried Lilly, âHe canât even boil waterâ.
âHeâs hopeless in the kitchenâ.
âDo remember when he tried to bake a cake that time?â.
âHow could I ever forget it?â replied Mary,
âHe nearly burned the house down!â
âLetâs just browse, Iâm sure weâll find somethingâ.
