From April 1943, the great Yehudi Menuhin performs the Brahms concerto (1st mvt) with the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Adrian Boult, with Alvar Lidell announcing (from acetates). I have posted mvts 2 & 3 at You Tube but this movement was unfortunately to long for that site to accommodate. Menuhin was on rare form on this occasion and I think this is my favourite recorded performance of the Brahms, bar none.
