Capt. Ed Mason and co-pilot Brad Everett are flying Mid-America Flight 54, twenty miles north of Laramie, Wyoming, when a UFO passes over their plane. The boomerang-shaped vehicle hovers several miles in front of them, turns and approaches them head on, then chases the commercial airliner. Meanwhile, Gus Shaftner is running for a local political office in Medicine Bow, Wyoming, and he claims the Air Force is covering up the fact that he was attacked by aliens while a passenger aboard a UFO.
