Manchester Aid to Kosovo (MAK) is a charity that is dedicated to providing help and support to the people of Kosovo. The charity was set up by five men from Manchester in a pub in response to the atrocities that were committed against those during the Kosovo War. MAK is involved in music, art, education, ecology, sport and human rights as well as the Manchester Peace Park in NE Kosovo. Ten years ago they released the compilation 'Cohesion', and are celebrating the launch of their follow up album 'MAK ten' with gigs in Manchester and London. Badly Drawn Boy (Damon Gough) has been a patron of MAK since his inclusion on 'Cohesion' in 2001 and will make two special appearances in aid of his charity. It is hoped the new album will facilitate more projects in Kosovo, encourage creativity and recovery and of course be an opportunity to showcase great music.
