How do we read guitar tab? This guitar lesson looks at the most popular method of learning guitar. Guitar Tab is similar to a chord diagram, its a visual image of the fretboard and when we want you to play particular frets we give you a number. Guitar Tab also tells you how to play the notes, Do we slide to the note? Play them at the same time? Play one note after the other? Guitar Tab can give you most of this information and is a great way to learn quickly. 1 word of warning! to play a song from guitar tab you need to know how it sounds, Guitar Tab will not give you the rhythm of the notes its asking you to play, so you cant tell how long to play each note unless you know the song well.
