When you buy your first guitar its extremely important to know how to tune it. You can quickly sound awful pretty quickly if you don't know how to tune it up. In this guitar lesson I show you the 5th Fret technique for tuning a guitar. This is perfect for the many times when you may not have an electronic tuner to hand and you need to get in tune quickly. For those with an electric tuner simply tune your guitars notes to the correct open string notes, I will show you in this video what the open strings are. By the end of this lesson you should have a great understanding of how we tune guitars and how to do it on the fly without an electronic tuner.
