Celebrations for Pickering’s Bicentennial Canada Day events this year will include the Music By the Bay Festival – the only public music festival that showcases young musicians. Now in its fourth year of operation, the Music By the Bay Festival will again take place in the heart of Durham Region at Millennium Square in Pickering, Ontario.
The Music ByThe Bay Festival is the only festival in Canada spotlighting new and emerging musicians under the age of 21. This year’s showcase will feature ten top calibre musical acts, currently being selected from over 150 submissions by musicians across Ontario. This annual 1-day Canada Day family event will feature live music from noon until dusk. Proceeds from the Festival continue to be collected for use in the beautification of the Frenchman’s Bay area, a popular Durham Region family picnic area, beach, park and playground. Admission is free and everyone is also welcome to picnic or visit one of the many local establishments while enjoying the music.
