The Pagai Islands of the Mentawai archipelago are home to numerous plants and animals found nowhere else on earth. For countless generations, Mentawai islanders have shared this world of mangroves, lagoons and majestic rainforests. Four unique primates — three monkeys and the bilou, a remarkable singing gibbon, depend on the rainforest for survival as do many other rare species.
