BJP petitioned the President seeking recall of Gujarat governor, Congress said appointment of an independent Lokayukta in the state would expose Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as more corrupt than BS Yeddyurappa. It said BJP was saving him because he was the party's biggest fund manger. Shaktisinh Gohil, leader of Opposition in the Gujarat assembly, said BJP was politicking in the name of Anna Hazare in Delhi, but opposing Justice R A Mehta as Lokayukta whom the Gandhian had certified as an honest man during his Gujarat trip.
