October 25, 2011 -- The encampments at the adjacent Lownsdale and Chapman park squares in downtown Portland were an extremely interesting subject to cover. As a grad student of urban planning and longtime map data analyst, both the structural configuration and make shift living conditions of the occupants begged for further inquiry. Just two and a half weeks prior to their removal by Portland police on November 11th, communications aide Raya Cooper escorted us around the space for approximately an hour.
