It knows when you are using regular alkaline or rechargeable batteries and alerts you if the wrong type of batteries are in your AT 2000 series type "A" microphone or wireless mic transmitter. When battery types are compatible it automatically charges them and places your device in stand by mode until ready for use, saving battery life.
