Researchers looking into the safety of household cleaners have taken the extraordinary step of turning a scientific observation, into a practical solution. Scientists noticed that while poisonings and injuries from household cleaners have dropped substantially over the last few decades, it’s not the case when it comes to spray bottles. In fact, poisoning and injuries from spray bottles cause 40% of all trips to the hospital for kids, a number that hasn’t budged since 1990. So, the same researchers who made that discovery are doing something about it. They have developed the first two-trigger spray bottle that could help prevent thousands of injuries to children each year.
