India which is now considered a future superpower country is facing many socio economic situations on its way of growth and developments. The billion plus population of India in one way considered as workhorse for the nation, and on the other hand difficulties in providing them basic facilities like food, health, education, housing, drinking water, sanitation, etc facilities. Marching with the developments, The Urbanization also growing. With this rise of Urbanization, the Urban slum is also equally rising. As per the estimates of the Committee set up by Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation under the Chairmanship of Dr Pranob Sen, the urban slum population is expected at 93.06 million by 2011. This is expected to cross 100 million by 2017. The people living in slum are mostly deprived by basic facilities like drinking water, proper house, sanitation and hygienic food.
