PART TWO - MLK Breakfast-Longhorn Steakhouse Conyers, Ga-Video Producer-Relentless Films Providing for the youth, looking after the elderly and strengthening the family were the main messages at the ninth annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Breakfast held by the Rockdale NAACP and the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce at Longhorn Steakhouse on Monday. The keynote speaker, the Rev. Dr. Walter Kimbrough of Columbia Drive United Methodist Church, urged the audience to do more than memorize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" speech and move beyond the speech by doing these three things. About 180 people came out to the breakfast, which was served by students from the Rockdale Youth Leadership program. Introduction was given by new Chamber of Commerce Chairman Thua Barlay, emceed by NAACP President Willie Gibson, songs led by Coroner and Pastor George Levett, Jr. of Crawfordville Baptist and Pastor J. Phillip Baker of Shady Grove Baptist, invocation given by Pastor Billie Cox of Macedonia Baptist, introduction of the speaker given by Pastor Al Sadler of the Church of New Beginning, and benediction given by Pastor Carolyn Carlisle of Pleasant Hill CME.
