http://www.ThePeddyBergLawFirm.com 480-382-3109 After a ROC complaint has been filed and an inspection has been conducted, the contractor may receive a Corrective Work Order. If the contractor receives a Corrective Work Order and has questions or is not sure how to proceed, he/she should contact an experienced Scottsdale construction law attorney. A Corrective Work Order issued by the ROC inspector will list the items the inspector feels the contractor needs to repair and/or replace to bring the work up to the minimum workmanship standards. The Order will be mailed to all parties and will typically give the contractor 15 days from the date of the Order to repair those items. If the contractor completes the items on the list, neither party needs to do anything else; and the case will ultimately be closed. On the other hand, if the contractor does not finish the items listed on the Corrective Work Order, or if the homeowner believes they were not repaired adequately, the homeowner can file a document with the ROC stating the contractor did not comply with the Order. This document is called the Request for a Citation and Complaint. If a contractor is notified that the homeowner has submitted a Request for a Citation and Complaint, the contractor would be wise to contact a construction law attorney in Scottsdale to discuss the matter.
