The car industry is facing a major challenge. The new EU guidelines give clear instructions for the future: As of 2020, new cars may only emit 95 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Only extremely fuel-efficient vehicles that get their energy not only from fossil fuels are able to reach such low emission rates – the so-called hybrid cars. Because of the combination of combustion engine and electric motor these clean racers blow a minimum of pollutants into the air. Will this be the car of the future?
