New Delhi, MAR 22: The World Sufi Forum organized by the All India Ulama and Mashaikh Board (AIUMB), an umbrella group of Sufis in the country, brings together people of all faiths. Hosting spiritual masters and scholars from across the world, it sends a message of peace, unity and harmony. The event aimed to discuss issues related to extremism and figure out effective counter-narratives. Around 200 scholars from across 20 countries participated in the event. During the mega event, leading Sufi scholars, intellectuals and academicians discussed ways to spread the message of peace as advocated by Islam. In his speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the diversity of Islamic civilization and Sufism. Modi said as terrorism and extremism become strong destructive forces, the message of Sufism has more global relevance now. The Sufi Congress was an occasion to showcase Indian and Sufi Islam's multi-cultural traditions.
