Gilgit-Baltistan, Feb 28: The poor standard of living in Gilgit-Baltistan is well known around the world. The decades-long illegal occupation by the Pakistan government has pushed the entire region into poverty. The dastardly acts of the Pakistani establishment have only added misery to the lives of the people. Be it human development index, infrastructure development or employment, the region lags behind on all accounts. But that hardly matters to those sitting in power.
