Jiading is a district of Shanghai with about 1.5 million habitants. Historically, until 1958, Jiading was a separate city, which became later part of the administration of Shanghai. In the early Qing dynasty, Jiading was infamously known for the "Jiading Massacre", a mass murder carried out by the invading Qing force, led by defected northern Chinese bandit general Li Chengdong. Around 1853, Jiading city was also known for bandit activities. Jiading Wetland, with its rivers and pounds, is a harmonious haven for birds of various species. Jiading is a great destination for people who love birding in Shanghai. Video done during the lockdown in Shanghai between 14th March 2022 and 1st June 2022.
