This is an interfaith dialogue multiple-series that we have been conducting across different Universities in Washington DC, where we sit down with a Muslim, A Jew, A Christian and a Hindu student to talk about finding common grounds amongst our different religions. We did the first series at American University a few months back and this time we are at Georgetown University. Today we are talking about "why there is so much animosity amongst some segments of different faiths when they are are all connected with one another?.
DHS Department of Homeland Security and its 5 years

To commemorate the 5-year anniversary of Homeland security we spoke to Dan Sutherland and Shaarik Zafar from Homeland Security's office of civil rights and civil liberties to address the negative image about DHS. Some critics have argued that DHS is deliberately targeting Muslims in the fight against terrorism. But according to DHS, the department is simply trying to protect the country and at the same time protecting peoples rights and liberties which involves following the correct guidelines and procedures that any country would pursue to protect its security. Another point that was highlighted was DHS is not only working in counter terrorism but is also engaged in helping the community in times of natural disasters and calamities. For Beyond the Headlines Imran Siddiqui reports from Washington.

Journeyman - the power of mentors' full length

This is a one one one talk highlighting the film Journeyman, a film about the power of mentors and mentees in America. Journeyman is directed by a filmmaker from Minnesota, Charlie Borden, who believes that our youth, both girls and boys, need guidance to be able to differentiate between right and wrong and find the correct path for themselves with the help of their mentors. This is especially true in today's society where children are spending about 40 hours per week in front of their TV screens and about 35 minutes per week with their moms and dads. It is highly imperative that men step up to the challenge of providing a guiding light to the lost teens of our society.

A 21st century Imam - Imam Johari Abdul Malik

Imam Johri is a different kind of an Imam, a breed of his own. For someone like me who comes from Karachi Pakistan, meeting Imam Johri was like a breath of fresh air. He is not only an Imam but also a thinker, a scholar, an activist, a musician, an avid golfer and a man who believes in the true tenants of all faiths, which is, that we all come from one God. We caught up with Imam Johri to spend some time and see how an American Imam lives his day.
