Auf diese Frage, die man mir in den letzten drei Jahren immer wieder stellt, anworte ich immer das Gleiche: Ich reise seit über 20 Jahren durch die Welt, und überall habe ich von diesem amerikanischen Multi gehört und – offen gestanden – meist nichts Gutes. Deshalb wollte ich es genau wissen und habe erst einmal Monate lang im Internet gesurft. Dabei fand ich heraus, dass Monsanto eines der umstrittensten Unternehmen des Industriezeitalters ist, das die extrem hohe Toxizität seiner Produkte immer verschleiert hat. Wie sieht es heute aus? Sagt Monsanto heute die Wahrheit über sein genmanipuliertes Saatgut? Kann man dem Konzern Glauben schenken, wenn er sagt, dass dank der Biotechnologien der Hunger auf der Welt und die Umweltverschmutzung ein Ende haben würden? Um eine Antwort auf diese uns alle angehenden Fragen zu finden, habe ich drei Kontinente bereist und die Behauptungen Monsantos mit der Realität vor Ort konfrontiert.
