commodities have been on a huge run. compared to only in post ww2 era. the 50's when the world was re-building, & and in 1973. today the emerging economies are driving demand

sure the cash for clunkers program has helped the auto industry here in the states, eventhough the majority of cars bought are from other countries. but the moment this program is done so is the demand.

the market was down today. traders are waiting for the unemployment report. volume is picking up. and volume's something we talk about. in the last few days the pickup could be encouraging BUT watch the video to find out why it's a big head fake.

the nar said resales in homes rose for the 5th straight month. but the demand is being driven by a tax credit for first time home owners. but that boost will end probably soon since the tax credit is ending according to the nar.

S&P is about 1000. but we really think the real story is in commodities. the commodity research bureau is up 33% from it's Feb. lows. it's only happened a few times. we also heard from the IEA.

a zinger of a GDP report with a 1% decline. year over year was a 3.9% contraction. the markets are banking on a 3rd quarter recovery. and housing has dropped so far that it hasn't been effecting the economy any longer.

the rally fizzled out. and unemployment insurance claims were better then expected, and people cheered that. we're still at VERY high levels. lot of earning reports are good but it's really just based on cost cutting NOT greater demand.

stocks are falling because of bad economic news.

commodities and stocks are tracking each other. after some of our research commodities are winning. the market's upside is limited because that rise acts as a tax.

stocks rallied again at the end of the day, again on low volume. financials were up which raised everything else up. newspaper companies up also? bonds rose also. dollar is getting killed and testing lows.

the s&p 500 was up by about 4% this week after a 7% jump last week. yet we still don't see a case for this stock rally. most companies have been beating earning estimates, but it's on cutting costs... not sales.

another sharp market rally. this in the basis that investors are willing to take risk on the basis of the yen decline and the decline in bond market. this is not going to last we believe, oil up 2%, gas up even more which is just another tax on consumer

Apple & Coke, what goes better together? We're into full swing for corporate earnings season. And these 2 companies are standouts!

last week was a good week. but so far this week it's also extending it's gain. but the better earnings were led by cut costing NOT jumps in sales. so no demand. the fed also said again that it not see smooth recovery again. and no CIT bailout again.

s&p new recovery high of 950 on very light volume. oil copper, etc... actually climbed further then the s&p, which is very strange. people are buying that in the hopes that somebody else will buy at a higher price. not on real economic strength.

China we believe is out of the woods and the recession is clearly over for them. the government as well had some statements about it.

stocks vs. commodities who's going to win? that's the question. with china's 9% growth rate, we're betting on commodities.

markets were on FIRE today. Intel reported outstanding numbers, just as we said it would because of China. China is in the drivers seat for now and a while. but volume is very very light.

Let's pat ourselves on our back. if you read our free newsletter we spoke about how bullish we are on Intel. and there bang, today intel's numbers came in and we were spot on again.

stocks rallied on very light volume showing little conviction in the buying. Financial stocks seem to be on the rise, and in the earnings reports not that many companies are saying bad things.

what china is the largest automaker now? with a 40% year over year growth is amazing. market was a fight today with bears beating out the bulls by the end of the day.

another down day with light volume. programmed trading is totally not helping out here. 3rd time in 4 days. is this the beginning of the market correction we've been talking about?

ugly day on wall street. everything was down about 2%. light light volume again, but did a bit over 1billion shares. more fears that economy the traction is not getting up to speed. everything we've been saying for months already.

another very light trading day. with programmed trading picking up the slack at the end of the day. vp biden admitted that the administration got it totally wrong on the state for our economy and another stimulus package might be needed

well another strange day on the markets. didn't look like programmed trading helped out at the end of the day. things continued to sell of on really really light trading. also mortgage applications are DOWN!!! not too good.

the market after pretty sharp losses had a day that tried to steady itself. the broadmarket had more declines then advances. the most important thing to watch right now has been consume confidence. consumers might be losing confidence

another bad report. share prices were down between 2% - 4%. computer buying has been so important to this rally. we are only about 5% now off the highs, and think there is more downside ahead of us.

today was a strange day. some of those green shoots are starting to die. the treasury is going to have to buy more bonds to keep things going.

it's all about inflation now. the treasury is printing money like there is no tomorrow and don't have a plan intact on how to get it out of the system yet.

the index has had 3 straight days down and the trading index was very light. little buying interest. banking and financial stocks took a double hit to the chin.

Market fell again over a 1%. Since March this has been the only time that 2 days in a row we've had this type of a drop. Is this a sign of things to come?

stocks started the week... weak! the ny fed's manufacturing index showed weak sales and inventory. there are also more foreclosures, delinquent credit card accounts... etc... the rally is losing steam.

what a light day of trading... not to mention that the nyse had to halt because of a technical glitch. and did anybody yet know about the billion worth of bonds found on 2 people in italy??

s&p almost broke through the 950. Oil hit another high, and retail gas is around $2.70. so we have a battle between rising interest rates, rising stock prices, & rising commodity prices. leading us to probably a big correction.

markets keep sending mixed messages. the real recovery is with china. they have a strong stimulus action, property sales, car sales, and investments are on the rise.

Banks are now allowed to make early repayments to TARP. This now allows them to increase dividends. The Supreme Court blocked the Chrysler sale to Fiat. So there are risks to the downside.

this type of day is NOT something that can stay around. and higher commodity and oil prices will NOT allow for a market rally to sustain. also the supreme court dealt with chryslers sale issues.

the unemployment rate is at it again... is around 9.4%. but according to some studies people at least are getting a little more confident they can find a job.

Unemployment numbers are out. New unemployment claims dropped a little... BUT the number is very high and still over 6.7 million people are out of work in America

Germany can't cut interest rates any lower, Chinese students are laughing at Geithner, and things don't look good!

Intel is going STRONG into mobile and wireless. exciting times. there's a new operating system, and a few new chips out there.

Mortgage delinquency still points to a week housing market, but the equity markets seems to ignored this. even with higher consumer confidence retail sales fell again.

We are a little stunned by today's action. GM filed for bankruptcy, 15 years in the making. Cisco replaced GM in the DOW. Bonds had one of their WORST day ever.

manic market week. yesterday's up is today's down. mortgage applications are sliding more. and bond yields are also taking it on the chin. the bulls see yields as sign of stronger economic growth to come, but we just see it as hyperinflation to come.

there was a rise in the market today based on consumer sentiment. but that sentiment is for the future, not the present. it's the present that leeds to a better economy and consumer spending.

there has been a sharp decline in bond prices, putting the fed into a terrible bind. there's a vicious circle surrounding our debt.

unemployment continues to rise, and having a record number of people on benefits are not going to be making this recovery easy. the u.k. also is very close to losing there aaa credit rating

not really many 'green shoots' in the economy. new mortgage applications are down as well. we are still looking at the markets going down. so be cautious.

the big thing the market has going on right now is people are moving back in and taking on more risk. but the economic data is less impressive.
