Tea House Scam #0Vernon acts as bait on Nan Jing road to attract tea house scammers. The name "tea house scam" refers to a young lady who approaches a man/ small group of men and starts to make smalltalk. She then suggests they go have a quick cup of tea at a nearby cafe (or beer at a bar, etc.) where perhaps she can practice her English while making the rube feel like he's lucky to have the attention of such a pretty woman. It turns out that she's in cahoots with the teahouse he was steered to, a place where everything is overpriced. And of course when the bill comes she isn't going to offer to pay a dime. In fact she goes back later to get her cut. A friend of mine who shall remain nameless got taken to the tune of RMB3000.
