You know, run to the bookstore, get a book on how do I get out of this, right? How to solve all my problems, how to eliminate trouble from my life. Turn on one of those TV prosperity preachers and start thinking good thoughts and maybe you could create a good world in your imagination. Instead of doing that, bless God for what humbles you. Bless God for what humbles you. And know that He gives grace to the humble.

There is nothing here about success and wealth and comfort and ease and having it your way and seeing the fulfillment of all your dreams and desires and longings. This is about suffering and suffering is the path to spiritual victory.

http://www.gty.org Is there a danger in some aspects of fundamental Christianity? No, I don't think there's any danger in it. I think there's a danger in the prostitution of Christianity. Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world." Jesus said to Peter, "Put away your sword." There's nothing in Christianity that calls for any kind of dominant power, national power, government power, takeover, war, none at all. This is about a personal relationship with god through faith in the lord Jesus Christ.

I believe that, and I can truly say that I have a sense of freedom from guilt. The Bible also says that "if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come" (2 Corinthians 5:17 ). That's what happened to me when I came to Jesus Christ. The Bible changes lives. Someone has said that a Bible that's falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn't. That's true because the Bible can put lives together. Millions of people all over the world are living proof that that is true. Maybe you know one or two of them. They've experienced the Bible's power.
