If you want to have a taste of a friendly medieval atmosphere, you should come to Kaiserberg in the Alsace the bilingual (German and French) area on the west bank of the river Rhine. This short movie is a little taste maker.

In the early 16th hundreds the craft of clay pipe making came to holland and especially in the town of Gouda it became an important industry with its own guild. Now the last clay pipe maker has retired, leaving all his tools and his entire collection of pipes to the Catarijne Museum of Gouda.

Wooden shoes or clumps were widely used in Europe, especially in the "wet" countries. The hand crafting them is an old and dying art. Mr. Beekhuiszen from Holland is a champion in this art. Just by looking at your feet he makes you a perfectly fitting pair (of "klompen").

In 2009 Amersfoort is to celebrate its 750 years of city rights. This is just a little taste bite for the long movie that in production now.

The Keukenhof is world renowned exhibition of tulips, narcissus and other springtime flowers. It open late March and closes at the end of the 2nd week of May. In the meantime around one million visitors from all over the world can to see this dazzling festival of colors.
