Murder of MysticSynopsis:Murder of Mystic (Killing of the Spiritual Tree) The fishermen of three fishing villages around Karachi have one common asset and so a common challenge to safeguard it. The mangrove forests are natural treasure for the fishermen, which are being clear- cut by the vested interests. The struggle of fishermen against deforestation is now turning into a battle of their survival. The timber mafia, land-grabbers and heartless urban corporations are wreaking havoc on their centuries old settlements by logging mangrove trees. These indigenous fishermen tried to resist the devastation but were killed by the land-grabbing mafia. Mystics are not restricted to the human world alone. Mangroves are spiritual trees which are in service of mankind. Mangroves are refuge to birds, marine forms of life and a natural guard against disasters like cyclones and tsunamis. Fishermen call them their lifeline.
