Twilight Sparkle receives two tickets from Princess Celestia to the Grand Galloping Gala, which becomes an argument for her friends who all want to go, each with their own personal reason. Things could not get any more complicated for Twilight to make a choice, as she notices them doing her favors to get on her good graces. Worst of all, she didn't have a bite to eat all day! Can she resolve this conflict before it breaks up her circle of friends?

The evil Nightmare Moon has begun to shroud the world in eternal night. Twilight and the ponies must hunt for six magic stones (the Elements of Harmony) that will help relight Equestria and find its missing princess.

Twilight Sparkle, a talented but introverted student of Princess Celestia, is sent to Ponyville in the hopes that she will open up and make some friends. There, she meets fellow ponies Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy. However, she is too focused on researching and preventing a prophecy, involving an evil pony who was sealed within the moon and would return during the "longest day of the thousandth year".
