It was a long morning in April, watching the Canberra leg of the worldwide torch relay. There was a chance for us to hop a bus and tag along, join the ruckus. But instead we opted for a bedroom view and two cups of green tea. Distributed by Tubemogul.

Yan and I (and Fezzik the cat) were among a relatively small population in our Richmond neighborhood who actually turned out the lights for one hour on March 29th, 2008. The meager participation was a little disappointing, but the hot chocolate was good. Distributed by Tubemogul.

Near-twilight is my favorite time of day. The location doesn’t seem to matter much, as sundown appears to be universally divine. Our backyard in Melbourne is no exception. Sometimes we just hangout in the garden with the laundry and enjoy the end of day. Distributed by Tubemogul.

The MCG is an acronym for “Melbourne Cricket Grounds.” One steamy afternoon, Yan and I made the trek over the William Barak Bridge and down to the entrance of the massive arena. There was a cricket match on at the time (Oz vs India), but we didn't attend. Distributed by Tubemogul.

Stumbled upon this smallish protest outside the Melbourne Church of Scientology. I was drawn-in by the costuming and the humorous signs. Yan was cautious, like crouching upon an injured animal. No dog in this fight. Ten minutes of video and we were gone. Distributed by Tubemogul.

Spring Festival in Melbourne. Old hat for Yan. Be warned: lots of obligatory firecrackers and the banging of percussion instruments. In other words, this episode is a tad on the loud side -- as any Chinese celebration should be, I suppose. Distributed by Tubemogul.

For two weeks we were homeless everywhere except the web. For me, this makes the mathematics of poverty less daunting. But Yan is much more sensitive to the immediate. She needs a kitchen, sunlight through a window, and the scent of herself in bed sheets. Distributed by Tubemogul.
