Internet Help up on the Rooftop:hanging christmas lightsReported by ; Marissa Hollowed Edited by ; Ashley Colley COLUMBIA,Mo - It's bitterly cold outside. The wind is as sharp as a knife and your wife wants you to string Christmas light on the roof. Spending a little money to save your marriage and a broken hip. Click to www.craigslist.com. By taking a quick browse through Craigslist's website you'll come across people willing to climb onto your roof in the cold and wind...to string Christmas lights. One of the people offering their services is Jeremy Gilmore. Gilmore got laid off and is trying to make some extra money this season give his daughter a special Christmas. Gilmore put up an ad on Craigslist a little before Thanksgiving. Today he decorated his 14th house with lights. "I was surprised to see how many people actually wanted me to set up their lights," says Gilmore. And 61-year-old Ed Hammock is one of these people. "Being 61 and all, I wasn't going to be able to climb up on that roof," says Hammock. But he wanted his house to be festive this holiday because he plans on having family over to his new place. Hammock went to Craigslist looking for someone to do the job. He searched through many ads and found Gilmore to be the best fit. "He told me that he was laid off and that was a big part of it for me. Helping someone while their helping me," says Hammock. Gilmore doesn't have a set rate for setting up lights. He says that he tells the customer to pay what's right. Gilmore recently put over 13,000 lights on a house. He is willing to travel all over mid-Missouri too. For some jobs Gilmore invites along his neighbor Tim Walton who also needs cash because he is also unemployed. Walton says that any extra money helps because he has six grandchildren to buy gifts for this Christmas.
