PoK PM Slams Sharif and Warns him against Merging Gilgit in Pakistan as a Fifth ProvinceMuzaffarabad, PoK, July 14, 2015: There is widespread speculation that Pakistan is coming up with a move to make Gilgit Baltistan a federal province of Pakistan, Prime Minister of PoK has come down very hardly on Pakistani leadership and have warned of dire consequences incase Pakistan makes any such controvesrial move, locals are also angry and worried about these speculations. Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed has warned Islamabad against any attempt to convert Gilgit-Baltistan into a federal province. He said “Gilgit-Baltistan is part and parcel of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Any attempt to merge it into Pakistan will deal a fatal blow to our stand in the light of UN resolutions envisaging right to self-determination for the Kashmiris," dawn quoted Majeed as saying in Muzaffarabad. Earlier, some Kashmiri leaders have expressed concern over alleged moves to convert Gilgit-Baltistan into the fifth province of Pakistan. "I call upon the prime minister of Pakistan to avoid (taking) any decision that does not fall in his jurisdiction. He cannot take this decision unless we, the people of Jammu and Kashmir, take it. Not only politicians but also people of Gilgit Blatistan and PoK are on streets to protest against any such move, people here are already very upset as terror training camps in region are fully activated by ISI, there is also huge mobilisation of armed forces in the region. Locals are living in constant fear. Pakistan has escalated it efforts to deepen its occupation in the region. These are dangerous signs and against international conventions.
