Regelrecht isoliert im Gesellschaftsgefüge: die Juden. Sie mussten in einem Ghetto leben und waren rechtlich Menschen zweiter Klasse. Dennoch waren sie meist reicher als ihre christlichen Mitbuerger, weil sie sich auf den Handel und das Bankgeschaeft konzentrierten. Zum Zeichen der Hoheit des Christentums entstanden in den Staedten maechtige Kirchen und Kathedralen. Alle Buerger beteiligten sich am Bau der Gotteshäuser, so wie auch Kirchenfeste in aller Oeffentlichkeit gefeiert wurden. Weniger fromm ging es in den staedtischen Badehaeusern zu. Hier gab man sich bei gutem Essen und Musik den Liebesdiensten der Prostituierten hin.

Die ganze 'Schiller-Familie' - Geschwister, Kinder, Kindeskinder - kam in München Grünwald bei Sigrun Offerhaus zum grossen Familientreffen zusammen. Hellmut, ältester Schiller, war aus Frankreich gekommen. Nach einem leckeren Essen beim lokalen Edelchinesen 'Lon Men' gings zu Sigrun nach Hause zum gemütlichen Nachmittag!

Gut essen und trinken hat in Hessen eine 2.000 Jahre alte Tradition. Die römischen Legionäre, die am Rand des Imperiums stationiert waren, brachten ihre kulinarischen Vorlieben mit. Im "Kochbuch des Apicius" sind die Rezepte der damaligen Gourmets überliefert. Eine Gruppe experimentierfreudiger Feinschmecker hat sich auf eine Zeitreise in die römische Küche begeben. Unter der Leitung der stellvertretenden Landesarchäologin Vera Rupp wird im Butzbacher Museum nachgekocht, was die Römer vor 2.000 Jahren am Limes zu genießen pflegten.

Um der Abschiebung zu entgehen, hat sich eine kurdische Asylbewerber-Familie in der Kirche verschanzt. Auch Lucia will nicht reden, aber ihr Verhalten ist mehr als verdächtig. Inzwischen haben Pfeiffer und Staatsanwältin Zirner eine Spur der kurdischen Familie aufgestöbert, doch als sie das Versteck - ein Nonnenkloster - stürmen, ist das Nest leer...

Scotland travel: Here's some views of where the guards on the wall walked in Blackness Castle, and the "spur defense" system. A very impregnable design, which may explain why Blackness Castle still stands! In fact, of all the castles we visited on our trip to Scotland, this was the only one that had no current scaffolding. Neither Oliver Cromwell's army or the ravages of time could conquer Blackness Castle!
